Capacitance Level Transmitter

The Capacitance Level Transmitter is a highly precise device designed for measuring the level of liquids and solids in industrial applications. It operates by detecting changes in capacitance between a probe and the tank wall or surrounding medium. As the material level fluctuates, the dielectric constant shifts, altering the capacitance value.

This variation is converted into a continuous output signal, typically 4-20 mA, enabling real-time monitoring and control. The Capacitance Level Transmitter ensures consistent performance in industries such as water treatment, chemical processing, and food production.

With its high sensitivity and accuracy, the Capacitance Level Transmitter is ideal for applications requiring non-contact level measurement. Its durable construction and advanced technology make it suitable for challenging environments. Whether used for bulk solids or liquids, the Capacitance Level Transmitter provides a reliable and efficient solution for industrial level measurement needs.

The Capacitance Level Transmitter offers reliable and precise level measurement, making it ideal for safety systems requiring functional safety up to SIL2, as per IEC 61508 standards. Its universal application is backed by a wide range of certifications and approvals, ensuring adaptability across industries.

One of the key advantages of the Capacitance Level Transmitter is that it requires no calibration for media with a conductivity of 100μS/cm or higher. Additionally, it features corrosion-resistant materials, including FDA-listed components, ensuring durability and compliance with industry standards.

For ease of use, the device supports menu-guided local configuration via an optional plain-text display. The Capacitance Level Transmitter also incorporates a two-stage overvoltage protection system, enhancing operational reliability in challenging environments.

The Capacitance Level Transmitter functions based on the principle of capacitance measurement. It comprises a probe and a reference surface, such as a tank wall or another conductive element. As the material level (liquid or solid) fluctuates, the dielectric constant between the probe and the reference alters, leading to a change in capacitance.

When the material level increases, the dielectric constant rises, causing the Capacitance Level Transmitter to register a higher capacitance. Conversely, as the level decreases, the capacitance reduces. This variation is converted into an electrical signal, typically a 4-20 mA output, allowing precise monitoring and control.

The Capacitance Level Transmitter is capable of detecting liquid interfaces, including emulsion layers, making it highly versatile. Its advanced design ensures quick response times and reliable performance across different industries. The Capacitance Level Transmitter is ideal for challenging environments, offering durable and accurate level measurement solutions.
