A standard RF admittance level switch is an advanced device designed to measure the level of liquids or solids in various containers by assessing their admittance. This measurement technique combines both capacitance and conductance, allowing the switch to detect the presence or absence of materials without direct contact. This non-contact operation is especially beneficial for handling corrosive or high-temperature substances. The switch is known for its high sensitivity, enabling it to detect even slight changes in level, making it suitable for precise industrial applications such as water treatment, food processing, and chemical manufacturing. With a robust design built to endure harsh environments, including extreme pressures and temperatures, the RF admittance level switch offers reliable and consistent performance, while its minimal moving parts reduce maintenance needs and facilitate easy integration into existing control systems.

The RF Admittance Level Switch is a highly reliable level detection device that operates on the principle of capacitance measurement. It accurately detects the presence of liquids or bulk solids by measuring changes in dielectric properties, ensuring precise and maintenance-free level monitoring.
The switch consists of a sensing rod, compensation shield, and an earth extension (body). When the sensing rod is in air, the capacitance between the rod and the guard electrode remains at a baseline level. As the material (liquid or solid) comes into contact with the rod, the capacitance changes due to the dielectric properties of the medium.
An advanced electronic circuit continuously monitors these changes. Once the capacitance reaches a preset threshold, the RF Admittance Level Switch activates, triggering an alarm, controlling pumps, or sending signals to an automation system for precise level management.
Highly Accurate Measurement: Eliminates false readings caused by material buildup or coatings.
No Moving Parts: Ensures long-term durability and minimal maintenance.
Selective Sensitivity: Detects level only when material covers both the sensing rod and earth extension.
Versatile Applications: Ideal for liquid and solid level detection in industries such as wastewater treatment, food processing, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
The RF Admittance Level Switch forms three capacitances:
A high-frequency sine wave is applied to both the sensing rod and the compensation shield. Since the shield and sense voltages remain equal, no current flows between them, effectively eliminating shield-sense capacitance from the measurement. This ensures that coatings or material buildup on the probe do not interfere with level detection.
By relying solely on sense-earth capacitance, the RF Admittance Level Switch provides reliable and interference-free level measurement, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial applications.
